I was trying to search for a certain bit of code in some files in dreamweaver, and was getting frustrated as there were no results, even though I knew the text was there. Turns out that dreamweaver was not searching in files that it didn't recognise (the extension was .men). I tried changing some settings to allow it to recognise the files, which it now does, but it still doesn't search them. Finally decided to change all the extensions to php as I know dreamweaver recognises php files and does search them. Found a nice freeware program that will rename multiple files.

Also, came across a nice feed aggregator from listening to the Mike Tech Show podcast (http://www.miketechshow.com/), called Omea Reader. Allows you to download podcasts directly from the reader. Check it out here: http://www.jetbrains.com/omea/reader/

Came across a great FTP and SSH tool (WinSCP) for those of you who are web designers or web developers and spend some time transferring files and performing tasks on a remote web server.

I recently went to the Cell C website to find out about their contracts. When I got to the home page I clicked on a "more" link which I thought would take me to the website content I was looking for, and to me it looked as though nothing had changed (even though the page had refreshed), as the same large flash advert at the top of the page kept playing - there was no indication that I had moved to the content that I had requested.

It's hard to find the words to describe the Metallica concert held in Johannesburg on Saturday night. When James Hetfield, pointed to his arm indicating he'd gotten goose bumps from the crowd, what a moment! I think at that point you could say the same for the entire audience. I was blown away. Any concert that starts off with "Creeping Death", and ends with "Seek and Destroy", cannot be anything but epic, insane, legendary. When Hetfield said "So South Africa, is this where all the wild animals are?", the roar was deafening. Hell yeah!

Want to know what the order of appearance and how long each set at the Coca Cola Colab concerts will be? The good news is that Metallica looks like they'll be on for about 2 Hours, from 21:30 until the Parlotones at 23:55. There's an estimated 15 - 30 minute changeover time.

Was listening to an old webdevradio podcast (which I've just discovered and really like) and Michael mentioned wink, a freeware tutorial and presentation creation software. This captures screenshots and mouse movements that can then be outputted to a variety of formats, including flash swf. This could be quite useful for anyone who does any kind of computer/website training. I know that I do and am definitely going to give it a try on my next training project.
